THE CHALLENGE BEFORE US
Paul, quoting from the prophet Isaiah, informs us that the church has the awesome responsibility to carry the gospel to "the ends of the earth."The Pacific Ocean covers an area greater than 40 million square miles. It is the largest area on the face of the earth, larger than all of the major continents of the world combined. Scattered throughout this vast ocean, are 30,000 islands grouped into 22 island nations. 6½ million precious souls inhabit these islands. The gospel has been carried into seventeen of the 22 countries that compose Oceania and the Lord’s church has been established in fifteen.
"For so the Lord has commanded us: `I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.'" – Acts 13:47
Let me show you the ends of the earth:

OUR PLAN FOR MEETING THIS CHALLENGE
PACIFIC ISLANDS BIBLE COLLEGE
The church has a mandate to train preachers and teachers.
. . . the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. – 2 Timothy 2:2
The Pacific Islands Bible College offers 24 courses that cover the entire Bible and related subjects. It is similar in design and curriculum to many of the preacher training schools in the U.S. Half the classes are offered by an onsite instructor; the other half can be taken by video or correspondence. Over 1,300 students are enrolled in the program and college courses are offered in 23 locations, in 10 countries.
PACIFIC ISLANDS BROADCAST PROJECT
. . ."Their sound has gone out to all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world." – Romans 10:18
KULA operates 24 hours a day and is owned by the church. It reaches every corner of American Samoa and part of Western Samoa. It is a highly effective tool in our arsenal to reach the Pacific for Christ. Plans are underway to expand this project via shortwave radio to reach the 10 million souls that inhabit the entire Pacific basin and Eastern Asia. Through contacts made by the radio broadcasts, we will be able to find the most productive fields to effectively and efficiently concentrate our efforts.
EVANGELISM, EDIFICATION, AND BENEVOLENCE
The battle for the hearts and minds of the men and women of the Pacific will not be won over the airwaves alone. Like any successful military campaign, it takes troops on the ground to win the day. Attitudes that are softened by aerial broadcasts and Bible correspondence courses need personal contact to complete the process.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; –(Romans 1:17)
With this in mind, we will continue to utilize gospel meetings, personal Bible studies, workshops, ladies’ and children’s Bible classes, and benevolent acts to build up the body of Christ in the Pacific.
